Part Two “Things I value as your pastor”

One of the characteristics that emerges in the pages written by Dr. Luke about the early church is that of connecting at a deep and very real level, no pretenders, posers, or fakes. They were known by the great love and care they demonstrated on a daily basis toward each other.

It is my dream to create that kind of feel for WAG, a place for real people, with real problems that will receive real love! It is a heart thing. It is an intention removal of the mask, the trite “I am OK’s”, the casual but meaningless, “I will pray for you”, even when you know you won’t.

We all have warts and zits! There are neither perfect people nor perfect churches, just real ones. It is OK to be blemished and even damaged. Jesus loves us all no matter what the history. He is in the redemption business. How about you?

Questions to reflect on:
1. What area of my life am I hiding from my fellow believers?
2. Who is it that God is leading me into relationship with so that I might share that?
3. Am I listening at a deep level?
4. Do I care enough to share?
